Madness: Live At Finsbury Park

October 1st, 2007 by rochelle

1992 live recording of reformed ska-turned-pop band Madness on ABC2. Apparently, the crowd danced so hard to ‘One Step Beyond’ that they caused an earth tremor measuring 4.5 on the Richter scale. Sounds a bit like an urban myth.

Radiohead album price up to consumer

October 1st, 2007 by rochelle

No one seems to be able to drum up as much media hype as Radiohead when it comes to releasing to a new album. A few months ago, fans were offered a downloadable showreel containing snippets of new songs from their latest album. In the past week, the media has been preocupied with cryptic messages on Radiohead’s website; a hoax website counting down the release date; and now Radiohead’s innovative approach to album pricing.

Fans will be able to download Radiohead’sIn Rainbows as of next week. How much will it cost? That’s something the fans can decided for themselves. No doubt this will spark many a discussion at various record company meetings.

Sex Pistols reunite for 30th anniversary

September 19th, 2007 by rochelle

It seems not even quintessential Brit punk icons the Sex Pistols could escape the clutches of re-uniting. The original line-up will play a one-off gig at Brixton Academy to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Never Mind the Bullocks, Here’s the Sex Pistols.

Maybe this gig will unearth some of the band’s obscure fanatics from the buried ashes of the seventies. That alone would be worth the price of the concert.
